Long time, no blog.

I hate that the pressures of university and trying to hold down a job forced me to abandon this blog and focus on my studies/getting enough sleep. Hopefully I'll be back soon, now that I've finished my second year. I've missed blogging a lot recently.

What I Wore: In My Garden

Making the last of the summer weather in the spider-filled garden of my new house. I'm still not sure how I feel about my Carrie skirt with black tights, so this may be one of the last times I get to wear it until next year. I wore my Whistles Carrie skirt (whose hem is sadly fraying at an alarming rate), with a striped H&M t-shirt, Office shoes and Ray Ban sunglasses.

3-Step Colour Blocking

There are three different ways to do the colour blocking trend, which has always seemed a bit strange to me, it's like wearing contrasting colours, by using clothes, accessories or make-up (like eyeliner or nail polish).
I seem to have inadvertently managed to colour block my bag, skirt and nail polish.

Having let the trend seemingly pass me by, I actually do like all the bright colours around at the moment. I'm wearing the Whistles Carrie skirt with an ancient Topshop bag and Barry M nail polish No134.

The Carrie

Whistles' Carrie skirt has been one of the most popular high street pieces this season - Grazia had an entire feature celebrating it.  I broke my budgeting rules and bought one (once I'd tried it on, I just had to have it). I wore it for a day out in London for my friend's birthday, with lace up espadrilles and a denim jacket.
I have been wondering how I'm going to continue wearing it when the weather gets cooler - the midi-skirt trend is showing no signs of abating, but I never think of pink as a winter colour. But Whistles has solved my dilemma, by releasing the Carrie skirt in red.

Isn't it gorgeous? If I had a spare £125 lying around, I'd snap it up in an instant. But I'm an unemployed student, so if you have the money, get it while you can.

What I Wore To: Switzerland

For a country famed for it's mountains and snow, Switzerland is surprisingly warm. I could only take a carry-on case (thanks Easy Jet!), but I managed to get enough clothes for eight days into one tiny suitcase. Other than the clothes in these photos, I took one more skirt, top and dress with me, as well as some ballet pumps and Converse and that was it. I made sure that everything I bought with me went with at least two other items, so that I always had an outfit to wear.
I'm wearing: Topshop t-shirt, Whistles skirt, Office sandals, Ray Ban sunglasses (I caved and bought some at the airport!).
Grace is wearing H&M jumper and jeans with Clarks Originals sandals.
Topshop t-shirt, American Apparel shorts, Office sandals and Ray Ban sunglasses.
H&M dress, Zara belt, Office sandals, Topshop bag and Ray Ban sunglasses.
I'm wearing: H&M shirt and skirt, Ray Ban sunglasses and Liberty headscarf (just seen).
Grace is wearing a vintage shirt and American Apparel shirts (we have the same pair).
