B&W

I worked out how to make my camera take photos in black and white (I know I could edit them, but I'm too lazy to do that.
I'm wearing a Jigsaw blazer (stolen from my Ma), H&M skirt, freebie brooch and brogues from Office.

I haven't worn my brogues for about a month (I got some new pumps and lace up boots and have been breaking them in). I forgot how much I lurve them. The leather is soft, they don't rub, and I can put them on without having to undo the laces (bonus!).

The MAGIC of the disposable camera

While searching through hundreds of photos (in my computer folders, in boxes around my room, and on Facebook) so that I could fill my school yearbook page, I was struck how awesome all the photos taken on those disposable cameras you can get from Boots are.

Grainy pictures from Paris:

Sunny magic in Italy:

My aunt thinks that this picture could have been taken any time in the last time forty years.
It's me, in 2008, in case you were wondering.

Capturing moments at birthday parties:

Pure white skin from Gracey.

Museum visiting:

I must now go and do my history coursework (due in tomorrow).

Sports Day

I don't do sport. I don't enjoy sport. I regard anyone who tries to make me do sport with a great deal of suspicion and mistrust.
So how did I get out of doing anything? Claiming I didn't know about it and then feigning injury. Works every time.

RUN HANNAH RUN!
(She won her race, by the way)

I'm wearing Topshop sunglasses, Lyle & Scott Cardigan and vintage scarf.

I LOVE ZOOEY DESCHANEL

Empty timetable day

Thanks to some EXCELLENT timetabling by my school, I have no lessons every alternate Wednesday. Yesterday was one such day. So Mama Eastoe and I headed up to London for some girly-bonding-time/to see Grace Kelly at the V&A/to go to some magazine party she had been invited to.
Unfortunately all the photos I took are dreadful because they come from my mobile phone - I left my camera at home.

I loved the V&A. I hadn't been before (although Mama Eastoe said that I had but didn't remember), and I was just amazed by the sheer amount of objects there. I loved the court casts (above) and couldn't believe that they got them into that room. I did realise that they took them apart in Italy and rebuilt them when they got them back to the museum but still, WOW, they're absolutely massive and someone, somewhere in history did all the carving.
Unfortunately, the Grace Kelly exhibit was sold out for the day, so I am going another day.
My favourite object was this staircase:
This staircase is from Italy and my inner history geek loves that it survives from Medieval/Renaissance times and it was transported without being damaged or anything. I wanted to climb up it but health and safety blah blah blah. What the picture doesn't show you is how intricate the carving on the central pillar and the banister is.
We then headed to Harrods for afternoon tea.
Mmmm Laduree.
I had raspberry, chocolate and vanilla mini macaroons and Mama Eastoe had pistachio and coffee mini macaroons.
I also had proper French hot chocolate, ie. what is essentially melted chocolate, which meant that I was so full I couldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. I could live off those macaroons for the rest of my life, especially the vanilla ones.

Rimmel vs Chanel

I love red nail varnish. It's my favourite colour. It's classic and goes with everything.
I usually wear this Rimmel nail varnish - it dries really quickly, doesn't chip easily and its quite cheap as well.
It looks like this when it's on:
But then I was poking around Mama Eastoe's dressing table, and I found this:
I have been converted. It works so well, the colour is different to the Rimmel and it doesn't chip when I wear it to work.

Summer's here.

It felt like the start of summer today (the sun was shining, birds were singing, and I went out without needing to wear tights or over the knee socks) so Mama Eastoe and I headed over to Whitstable for some light shopping.

We went to this gorgeous little shop that sold all sorts of odds and bobs for the garden. (There's Mama Eastoe, ignoring me and the camera).

I thought this mirror/water feature was pretty cool.
I took some more pictures, but my memory card was acting up.
Also, I got some new shoes:
They're from Office and they're called the Loose Lace (see, no tights!) My friend calls them "the Victorian chimney sweep boots". They're real leather and are really comfortable, but the stitching around the top does rub my ankle sometimes.
