Turning Twenty

I was lucky enough to spend my 20th birthday in Paris with my wonderful friends. Of course, I took my trusty disposable cameras with me, and ate too many macaroons. 

Continuity.

Carrying on from the pictures I posted earlier of my friends and I in London, my friend Charlotte, who writes a blog, Lay Down I Think I Love You, took some photos on her disposable camera.

Proximity

One of things I really love about my university is just how close to London I am. Last week, my friends and I decided on a whim to go up to the Tate Modern and to see some sights. It's so nice to be a 20 minute train ride away from London instead of a 90 minute one. 

These photos of Charlotte and I on the Millennium Bridge were taken with the Hipstamatic iPhone app. While Charlotte was dressed sensibly in her lovely coat, I was freezing in my aviator jacket; it may be stylish, its not warm. Then again, it is from Primark and I don't really expect anything I buy from there to be of high quality. 

Tall Ships

Last week my friends and I went to see a band called Tall Ships (have a look at their Myspace here) at the Hippodrome in Kingston.They were brilliant. Tall Ships were the first band I saw when I came to university, so it was really nice to see them again, especially now that I've got some of their songs on my iPod.

Not only did the band sound excellent, but they were really lovely when I met them afterwards, and seemed so pleased that everyone was enjoying their music. 

Central.

My friends and I made an impromptu trip to central London on Friday afternoon. I can't remember the last time I went to so many shops without spending all money. 

We spent a lot of time on Carnaby Street, especially in the Lomography shop. But because James and I don't have Lomography cameras, we played with our Hipstamatic apps instead.

Happy Birthday Nathan

My friend Nathan, who writes the blog Real Horrorshow Tunez, turned 19 on Friday. We had planned to go to a roller disco (complete with 80s outfits), but the snow put a stop to that. Instead, we went to a little club in Kingston where Amerie (of '1 Thing' fame) was performing. She came, sang three songs, and left (so there was no time for anyone to take any decent pictures).

Last night we became zombies for a night for a Halloween party. 

Someone didn't get the message.

London With Grace.

Grace and I headed up to the Topshop Student Shop at Oxford Circus. She bought this gorgeous velvet turban. It was the last in the shop - we had to steal it off a mannequin. 

Afterwards we headed to the Hummingbird bakery for some delicious cupcake goodness. 

Grace wore a vintage cape and had a carrot cake cupcake, and I wore my new Topshop hat, with a Topshop jacket and dress and my ASOS bag, and I ate a chocolate cupcake (above).

Last Night Out

I move out tomorrow. So my friends and I went out for one final time together.

It made me realise just how much I'm going to miss them. 

A new patisserie opened in Canterbury (typical - just as I leave!). What's not a place to love about a cafe that has pretty wallpaper and serves me ice cream and wine at 11pm? 

SMILE.

Sixth form was the best two years of my life.

Happy Birthday Hattie

One of my best and oldest friends, Hattie, turned 18 last week. We celebrated by going out to Fabric in London.

Hattie and I got MAC make-overs before we went out. I hadn't had one before, and I wasn't sure what to expect. My only vague direction was "a sort-of dramatic smoky eye", and now I wish I had been a little more specific - I felt it was more than a little over the top. I did get a nice lipstick though.

Mid-August

Life has been crazy for the past two weeks. I've been working, getting my A Level results and preparing for university and seeing friends and family before I leave in a few weeks.
