Turning Twenty

I was lucky enough to spend my 20th birthday in Paris with my wonderful friends. Of course, I took my trusty disposable cameras with me, and ate too many macaroons.

New House

I finally moved into the house that I'll be living in for my next year at university on Friday. It is so lovely - I feel really lucky to be living here.
I bought my Paul Smith-esque bedding in the Habitat closing down sale.

Just Kids

While I was on holidays in Switzerland, my friend lent me a copy of 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith. I was dubious, as I'm not the biggest fan of autobiographies. I absolutely loved it. Patti Smith's writing, particularly her attention to detail, whether it was what the colour of the hotel room walls were, or what she and Robert Mapplethorpe were wearing when they met Bob Dylan, was absolutely perfect.
I Googled her as soon as I got home too see some more photos of her (there are a few dotted sporadically around in the book).
All I want to do now is run away to New York with a beautiful boy and wear incredible jewellery with oversized shirts and tight jeans.

Switzerland

I spent the last nine days with my friend in Switzerland. I had a wonderful time - the country itself is beautiful, the people are lovely and the food is delicious. Of course, I took a disposable camera with me.

Continuity.

Carrying on from the pictures I posted earlier of my friends and I in London, my friend Charlotte, who writes a blog, Lay Down I Think I Love You, took some photos on her disposable camera.
(doesn't the door look like the one in Inception?)
These were taken on a disposable camera, aka my favourite way to take photos.

Proximity

One of things I really love about my university is just how close to London I am. Last week, my friends and I decided on a whim to go up to the Tate Modern and to see some sights. It's so nice to be a 20 minute train ride away from London instead of a 90 minute one.
These photos of Charlotte and I on the Millennium Bridge were taken with the Hipstamatic iPhone app. While Charlotte was dressed sensibly in her lovely coat, I was freezing in my aviator jacket; it may be stylish, its not warm. Then again, it is from Primark and I don't really expect anything I buy from there to be of high quality.

I'm so bored of wearing tights

I took this picture at home over Christmas, just as all the snow was beginning to melt. You wouldn't think it was -3 degrees outside. The dress I'm wearing is from Topshop and its a dream. I can't wear it until I can wear it outside with bare legs and little black pumps.

Rough Trade

My friend and I went to Rough Trade East in Brick Lane a couple of days ago, and while we were there we got our photos taken in the photo booth.
First attempt:
Second attempt:
If only all photo booths, particularly the ones for passport photos, were as flattering as this.

Home Sweet Home

I go back to university soon and while I'm looking forward to going back (seeing my friends, no curfew, no dog hair on my clothes, having my entire shoe collection), there are definitely some things I'm going to miss about being at home. Namely; my family, my pets, having my meals cooked for me, having me laundry done, a clean house, TV, and my lovely bedroom, which I got Just Right about three days before I left for university.
I think the bookshelves are my favourite part of my room. I've about 50 more books, 20 more magazines and a lot more DVDs in my flat at university, so for once, my shelves aren't ridiculously cluttered.
